Some of these challenges will be much funner with multiple people so get your friends and family and include them in the fun. 1 – The Wasabi Challenge
This is one of the challenges to do at home that can be customized at the participants’ will. Participant should try to eat a teaspoon of wasabi within a predetermined time (usually within one minute). If not, you can modify the challenge and see how many teaspoons of wasabi the participants can eat within a minute.
2 – The Popsicle stick and cup tower challenge
Unlike most of the other fun games, Popsicle stick and cup tower challenge needs more creativity and strategic thinking. The goal of this game is to build the tallest tower within a certain time frame utilizing the paper cups and Popsicle sticks provided. Although participants can take compete on individual basis, if there is large number of participants, they can take part even as teams. Remember, you should not allow participants to use glue, pins, staple etc. In fact, it will be quite a surprise to see the variety of strategies these participants will use during the competition.
3 – Tin Can challenge
One of the harder challenges to do at home, this is going to be very exciting with an enormous amount of fun. You will need to collect canned food (unopened) as much as possible; the larger the variety, the bigger the fun. You can consider adding items like canned vegetables, canned fruits, canned seafood, canned stocks, canned broths, canned meat, canned poultry etc. Although canned pet food can add more excitement and fun, you must be 100% sure that all the participants can tolerate such food.
Remove all the labels off the cans so that no participant can predict what’s inside. Now, you should number all the cans and write down all those numbers on separate pieces of papers. Put those numbered pieces into a box and ask each participant to collect a number randomly. The participant should eat up the food inside the respective can.
4 – Baby food challenge
For this, you will need a variety of baby food items; again, the bigger the variety the more the fun. The participants of this fun filled game should try a spoonful of all the varieties and correctly guess what “flavor” the baby food is. Bonus points if you manage to finish it!
5 – Marmite/Vegimite Challenge
In this challenge, the person who eats the largest amount of marmite will be declared as the winner. Since you cannot eat marmite alone, you should have lots of toast; participants can spread marmite on toast and eat. If your feeling particularly competitive cut the toast completely and spoon it in your mouth for faster results.
6 – Blindfolded drawing challenge
First, you need to have items like blindfolds, pens and drawing papers ready. Blindfold each participant and ask them to draw a particular thing. You can maximize the excitement of the game using your creativity.
7 – Foot ice bath challenge
This is one of the more popular challenges to do at home, call this the mini version of the ice bucket challenge; this task is relatively easier to perform and almost all the people find it appropriate for them than the ice bucket challenge. The participants should dip their feet in a tub or a bucket of ice water. The person who holds longer than the others, wins!
8 – The Dizzy challenge
This challenge can deliver extraordinary amount of fun for both the participants and the audience alike. In fact, this is a combination of two challenges. Every participant should spin the same number of rounds. As soon as the rounds are done, the performer should attempt the second challenge. Shooting a basket ball, throwing a dart are examples for the ‘second challenge’. You can modify the rules and regulations depending on your creativity and the audience. Before performing, you should make sure that the environment is accident free. Also, see if all the participants are confident with spinning before you begin.
9 – Stay Silent challenge
Although it sounds pretty simple, it is a practically hard task to stay silent particularly when your best buddies are around. Silent means silent; you cannot even laugh. The one who makes breaks the silence first is out. Then another round starts; each round lasts until a person breaks the silence. The last person to break the silence should be declared the winner. In fact, this challenge is appropriate for everybody (If you have other people living with you then this is one challenge to do at home that wont annoy them eg. Mum and Dad!).
10 – Touch and feel challenge
Touch and feel is another exiting challenge to do at home that can be performed with any number of participants of any age. Collect an assortment of funny and interesting objects that suit the crowd. Prepare separate sets of objects (even a couple of objects would be fine) for each participant and put them into different containers. These objects shouldn’t be seen by the competitors until they finish the challenge. Blindfold each competitor on their turn and ask them to describe the objects as accurate. The participant with the highest number of accurate guesses wins.
11 – Card tower building challenge
Well, this can be a favorite game of many and will be a favorite challenge to do at home for you and whoever else is involved. All you need is some packs of playing cards to do this challenge. This particular game can be played either as individuals or teams depending on the number of participants available in the house. Distribute a pack of cards to each individual/team and ask them to build a tower within a specific time frame. They are not allowed to use glue, pins, threads, tape or any other external aid during the competition. The one/team that builds the tallest tower wins at the end of the time.
12 – The impersonation challenge
This can be a real icebreaker for any party. The competitors should impersonate a person (a celebrity, a friend, a relative, a neighbor, a coworker, a subordinate, a boss are effective suggestion). Each participant should be supplied with a piece of paper to write the name of the person they are going to impersonate. Then, all the participants should put their pieces in their pockets. One by one, the participants should start impersonating and the others should guess. The one who makes the first correct guess owns the respective name slip. At the end, the competitor with the most number of name slip will be declared as the winner.
13 – The Peanut challenge
Well, this is going to be somewhat a tricky but exciting challenge. Each participant should hold a spoon in the mouth. The challenge starts with one participant holds a peanut on the spoon. He/she should past the peanut on to the next participant’s spoon. If it drops, the person who passed the peanut is out and the game resumes with the next player. The one who remains eliminating all the others will be the winner.
14 – The spinning bottle challenge
Get some pieces of papers and write down different funny actions in each of it. Fold them and put them into a bowl. Form a circle with all the participants and place a bottle at the center of it. Spin the bottle; whoever the bottle points out should perform the task.
15 – The bubblegum challenge
Each participant should be provided with a paper plate (with a bubblegum). The bubblegum should be covered with a large blob of whipped cream. Participants must grab the bubblegum with the mouth (dipping their faces on the whipped cream).
16 – The cucumber challenge
Find a large cucumber. Form a circle with all the participants. This is another one of those challenges to do at home that end up being a lot of fun. The challenge will start when one player holds the cucumber between the knees and passes it to the next player. If the cucumber drops, the person who passed the cucumber is out.
17 – Funny hot potato challenge
Get a garbage bag and fill it with a large number of embarrassingly funny cloths and accessories. Form a circle and pass the bag around with some background music. When music stops, the person who holds the bag at that moment should pick an item from the bag and wear it. When the bag is empty, the participant with the least number of articles wins. These are the challenges to do at home that can lead to a lot of laughs and very goofy looking participants!
18 – The balloon popping challenge
A balloon should be tied to the foot of each player. Everyone should protect their balloon while trying to pop the others’ balloons. The last person to remain with a balloon is the winner. This is one of the challenges to do at home that can get pretty rough and competitive, make sure you are in an open space so you don’t break anything.
19 – Shave balloon challenge
This is played by couples. Each couple will be given a balloon a disposable razor and shaving cream. One person should hold the balloon (of course in the mouth by the knot). The other person should apply shaving cream on the balloon and shave it using the razor provided. The couple that shaves off all the cream (without popping the balloon) wins.
20 – The biscuits/cookies challenge
Get some biscuits and spoons ready. Ask one participant to hold a spoon in his mouth and stack biscuits or cookies one on the other. Count the number of cookies he/she can handle before the pile collapse. The person who stacks the most number of cookies is the winner.
21 – The Lip Retractor challenge
Ask one person to put on a lip retractor and pronounce a randomly picked word (these words should be written on cards and put on a box). Rest of the participants should guess the respective word. Each player gets 5 chances to wear a lip retractor and pronounce words. End of the day, the player with most number of accurate guesses will be the winner.
